I guess every city has its place where you can buy paintings by local painters. In some cities you can watch them painted. Here in Riga some time ago was one person who was drawing portraits of tourists while having a dinner in outdoor cafe, and then trying to sell the drawing. But that’s all here, you can not see anyone painting on the street. But if you want to buy, there is the possibility on the Livu square.

This set of images is from this year’s autumn fair. We have about four (I don’t know exact number) fairs taking place in the Dome square of Riga. They are all about the same, but every one of them has its own focus. In autumn you can buy vegatbles, especially pumpkins. So my focus in this picture set is on pumpkins.

This is a lamprey catching site near the town of Salacgrīva. Lampreys here are very tasty, quite expensive fish, but not everyone likes it because they somehow think of eating snakes…

As I was showing Latvia to our Austrian friends, I told them that in Latvia almost all is made of sand. Also these cliffs near Tūja (called Veczemju cliffs) are made of sand. But nice ones, aren’t they?

Main pedestrian street in Cēsis. On this street there are some nice restaurants, shops etc. But it is not so crouded as Cēsis is quite small town.
