Party Time
Jun 30, 2008 Other
Summer is a picnic time. Parties outside are really great if it doesn’t rain! Let’s do some counting here. We have 3 months of summer and two more half-months when we can have a party outside. That’s 18 weekends, at least half of them are rainy or windy. Not so many days to have fun. Must have a vacation to have more!
This sunday was good. This time here kid’s party with ice cream cocktails.
Fishing
Jun 27, 2008 Nature
This year midsummer day was very (VERY!) windy. Waves in the sea were really big. There was nothing much to do but still I went to walk a little bit near the sea. And then I met some seagulls fishing in the waves. At first they were kind of shy, but when hunger took over, they didn’t pay much attention to me. This is when I came in with my 300mm.

Sea And The Sky

When the nights are as long as this time of the year, we have to wait until very late to make possible pictures like this. This day I was lucky. I went out on the right time, the waves were OK, the light was nice and the sky was astonishing!
Greetings to everyone who has survived our greatest drinking festival of the year!

Fern Blossom
Jun 19, 2008 Festival
We have our greatest festival coming on the night of 23rd of June. Summer Solstice!
Generally it means that everyone gathers around the fire with friends and stays awake all night long. There is a place for beer and singing also. And after having a beer or two (or a six-pack) some get bored and walk around in pairs in search of the famous fern blossom. Of course, they can’t find anything in the dark, so they stick to having something romantic instead. This is why so many people have birthday around 23rd of March.

Who Wrote This?

There are two letters on the stone written - L and O. Nature is amazing! It creates most beautiful things and views. And it can even write us something time after time!

Mourning
Jun 13, 2008 City
There is a place in Riga named Great Cemetery. There are burried many people who played great role in Riga’s and Latvian history.
After WWII Soviets built a street across the cemetary and turned this place into a park. The park now has abandoned chapel, abandoned mortuaries, the whole place is kind of spooky.
